Principle of action

2U increases the number of useful colony-forming units and creates favorable conditions for the development of useful bacteria. These bacteria, in turn, produce substances that affect the production of neurotransmitters responsible for our mood, cognitive functions, behavior and general psychological state. Systemic psychobiotic 2U restores not only healthy intestinal microbiota, it is simultaneously involved in the regulation of three systems:

Nervous

Colony-forming units 2U participate in the synthesis of neurotransmitters: serotonin, acetylcholine, GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), melatonin and histamine. Thus, bacteria participate in the functioning of the so-called hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, which is crucial for maintaining mental health (especially in depression)

Endocrine

Reduces the concentration of cortisol, the stress hormone. Mediates the processes of gluconeogenesis, glucogenolysis, lipogenesis and lipolysis. Affects the feeling of hunger and satiety by producing active metabolites that participate in the synthesis of a number of hormones. The main hormones whose synthesis is influenced by intestinal microbiota include: glucagon-like peptide-1, glucagon-like peptide-2, peptide YY, glucose-dependent insulinotropic peptide, ghrelin, leptin, cholecystokinin, serotonin and insulin

Immune

A huge amount of lymphoid immune tissue is concentrated in the intestine. The beneficial effect of 2U on the intestinal microbiocenosis maintains the health of the intestinal mucosa. Increases the formation of anti-inflammatory cytokines. This fact is of great importance in light of discoveries linking chronic, generalized inflammation of the body with the occurrence of neurotic-anxiety disorders and neurodegenerative diseases.

!

With the help of the vagus nerve, neurotransmitters, cytokines and hormones, information from the gastrointestinal tract is constantly transmitted to the brain. But it is important to understand that due to the bidirectionality of the gut-brain pathway, there are also numerous dependencies with the opposite vector.

It has been proven, among other things, that chronic stress negatively affects (through the hormone cortisol) the composition of the intestinal microflora, and indirectly the human immune system and many other life processes.

The effectiveness of 2 U is determined not only by the number of colony-forming units (CFU), but also by their ability to reach the intestine in an active form. To preserve and activate CFU, 2 U uses a two-phase delivery method, where two components: dry (selective biomass) and liquid concentrate (ultralizates) must be mixed immediately before use.

This promotes the preservation and active delivery of a larger amount of CFU to the body and reduces the likelihood of degradation of active microorganisms during production, transportation and storage.

Consortium 2U provides protection to bacteria from the adverse conditions of gastric juice, thanks to a special protective shell that dissolves only in the alkaline environment of the intestine.
